Job summary

RBC Bearings is seeking a Purchasing/Buyer professional in California to review requisitions, clarify information with departments, and decide processing methods based on contracts and bidding. You will identify vendors, place orders, and develop specifications for supplies and equipment.

The role requires assembling requisitions, solving order issues, preparing bid specs, and assisting with negotiations, with a focus on accuracy and timely procurement in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and vendors.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Knowledge for purchasing practices and procedures.

Must have knowledge of Internet Software, Inventory software, Order processing systems, Spreadsheet Software and word Processing Software. ASI/AS 400 experience a plus.

Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

MIN: $35 to $43 per hour
