Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions seeks a detail-oriented Assistant Buyer in West Chester, Ohio. You will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Purchasing Department, maintain purchasing records, and assist with routine vendor requests and coordination.

You will work with Buyers and the Department Manager to manage bids, POs, and data integrity in the ERP system, while supporting plants and vendors on daily tasks and inquiries.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Six months to one year of office, clerical, or purchasing experience.
• Attention to detail in reviewing purchasing documents.
• Basic knowledge of office procedures and general software.
• Ability to collect data, perform arithmetic calculations, and prepare simple reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Request written bids and telephone quotes from approved vendors and record bid information.
• Respond to system triggers for material requests and coordinate with plants and logistics.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders for raw material.
• Monitor on-hand inventory and report discrepancies.
• Assist with tracking vendor quality and delivery issues and support claims as directed.
• Support accounting and purchasing functions including receiving products and processing invoices.
• Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing and delivery information.
