Job summary

Hunt Electric in Hudson, WI is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support the manufacturing purchasing team across Hudson and Georgetown. You will help with vendor setup in ERP, enter subcontracts, manage purchase orders, and organize procurement data.

This role requires strong organization and customer-service focus for internal and external customers. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in purchasing support, familiarity with ERP systems, and solid MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1–3 years in purchasing support or vendor relations.
• Knowledge of electrical industry, equipment, supplies and materials preferred.
• MS Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency; ability to learn ERP software.
• Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to address and resolve minor problems and escalate when needed.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and collaborative work style.
• Analytical with ability to decide based on department objectives.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials and equipment for Baer Manufacturing projects in partnership with procurement.
• Enter purchase order information and generate POs for vendors via Remarcable.
• Manage subcontracts: create subcontracts, change orders, and track COIs and lien waivers.
• Create and maintain vendor data in Spectrum ERP and Remarcable.
• Maintain procurement docs: W9s, COIs, certificates, SOPs.
• Import/export POs between Remarcable and Spectrum systems.
• Support Buyers and Purchasing Managers with daily tasks and special projects.
• Assist in material order tracking and shipment expediting.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

• Working in partnership with procurement team members and vendors, purchase materials and equipment for Baer Manufacturing projects.
• Enter purchase order information and generate PO to vendors via Remarcable.
• Ensure that the subcontracts process runs smoothly: generate subcontracts and subcontract change orders, create and track subcontract documents (COI’s, signed contracts, and lien waivers.)
• Create and manage vendor information in Spectrum (ERP) and Remarcable.
• Update and maintain procurement documentation: new vendor form, W9’s, COI’s, Disadvantaged Business Certificates, Tax Exempt Certificates, and departmental SOP’s.
• Import and export purchase orders from Remarcable to Spectrum systems.
• Support Buyers, Senior Buyers, and the Purchasing Managers with daily tasks and special projects.
• Assists Purchasing with material order tracking and expediting of shipments.
• Works in tandem with Accounts Payable to address accounting related issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute ideas to develop and documenting best practices.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• High School Diploma/Equivalent and 1-3 years of experience supporting purchasing, inventory management, vendor relations, or related experience. College or Vocational Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical industry, equipment, supplies and materials preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn specialized purchasing software and ERP systems.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to address and resolve minor problems and escape complex problems to Buyers, Senior Buyers, or the Purchasing Manager.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and demonstrate a flexible and collaborative work style.
• Ability to analyze information and make decisions based on department and company objectives.
• Demonstrated success in working with immediate team members and other departments to build effective relationships.

Physical Requirements

• This job operates in a professional office environment.
• This role regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
• This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets.
• Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
• This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.

Pay Range

$54,272.00 - $74,752.00

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
