Spherion is partnering with a growing, local, food and beverage manufacturer in Louisville!

We're seeking an experienced Purchasing and Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you'll drive our purchasing strategy and optimize our logistics platform while reporting directly to the CEO. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining our supply chain excellence and supporting our continued growth. You'll be overseeing Safe Quality Food (SQF) Compliance from the Purchasing and Logistics departments - Food and Beverage Manufacturing experience is important for this role.

Responsibilities :

1. Lead end-to-end purchasing functions, ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement
2. Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships
3. Manage daily order status and maintain uninterrupted production schedules
4. Oversee BOM accuracy and SQF compliance in partnership with Quality Assurance
5. Monitor market conditions and industry trends to inform purchasing strategies
6. Maintain vendor compliance documentation and approved supplier register
7. Maintain accuracy of inventory in the warehouse

Working hours : 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills :

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Economics, or related technical field
• Track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives
• Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends and competitive landscape

Experience :

4-7 years

Qualifications :

• Purchasing and logistics experience in food manufacturing
• Experience with SQF standards and food manufacturing compliance
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
• Analytical and mathematical capabilities
• Excellence in verbal and written communication
• Proven negotiation skills and vendor management experience
• Detail-oriented mindset with a sense of urgency
• Ability to thrive in both office and production environments
• Ability to move between office and production environments
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally
• Some travel may be required for vendor audits and facility assessments
