Job summary

Promontory Club in Park City, Utah, seeks a Purchasing Agent-Residential for Promontory HOMES. You will lead proactive estimating and purchasing across multiple projects, vet contractors, issue purchase orders, and drive cost-effective solutions to meet budgets.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills are essential. Requirements include 2–4 years in estimating/purchasing on residential builds, knowledge of construction systems, and proficiency with Buildertrend/Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, supply chain management and/or minimum of 2 years’ related experience working on residential projects.
• 2-4 years of estimating/purchasing experience, including researching and reading plans, material takeoffs, labor and material unit pricing.
• Experience estimating/purchasing residential projects of $2+ million dollars.
• Knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to analyze bids, proposals, estimates, including labor rates, fringe benefits, overhead, and profit.

Responsibilities

• Contracting of all scopes of work related to new home residential construction.
• Bid, negotiate, and make recommendations for contract award.
• Create and issue Purchase Orders in Buildertrend based on award recommendation.
• Use market strategies to ensure justified market pricing and manage RFIs.
• Collaborate with accounting, design center, field project management, and office management to meet goals.
• Vendor maintenance, interview and vet new contractors for bidding and awarding work.
• Measure contractor performance and provide guidance to management.
• Analyze total spend by scope to identify efficiency opportunities.
