Job summary

RockBridge Search & Recruitment in Park City, Utah, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to source materials, negotiate pricing, and manage vendor relationships for commercial construction projects.

You will collaborate with project teams, track orders, monitor inventory, and contribute to cost controls. The role requires 3+ years in purchasing in construction, strong negotiation and organization, and a hands-on approach to ensuring on-time supply.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction materials, equipment, and supplier networks.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience reviewing contracts, bids, and vendor proposals.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Experience with construction management or ERP software is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, and services for multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and favorable purchasing terms.
• Analyze bids and quotations to ensure the best value while maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting on procurement.
• Track purchase orders from issuance through delivery and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory levels and recommend purchasing strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Research new suppliers and identify opportunities for cost savings without sacrificing quality.
• Stay current on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and material availability.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and project specifications.
• Maintain organized purchasing records and documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost tracking.
