Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Corrections, is seeking a Purchasing Agent I at Northpoint Training Center to support the procurement of goods and non-professional services. This is a full-time Executive Branch position with standard work hours and eligibility for overtime.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of purchasing experience; substitutions for education or experience may apply. Competitive salary and benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff involved in purchasing, preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports, budget and accounts payable.
• Receives requests for all types of goods and non-professional services for processing in eMARS per Model Procurement Code.
• Creates and issues requests for quotes from vendors and negotiates price and delivery terms.
• Monitors all purchases for compliance with Model Procurement Code.
