Job summary

Southland Industries in Horsham, PA, seeks a Purchasing Assistant to support the buying team with placing orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining supplier pricing in the ERP system. The role requires at least 1 year in purchasing or customer service, strong time management, attention to detail, and good communication; experience with COINS ERP is a plus.

You will coordinate with suppliers, teams, and accounting to expedite orders, process receivers and returns, and assist with RFQ/RFP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing or customer service.
• Basic purchasing practices and systems preferred.
• Strong time management to handle multiple projects.
• Analytical, problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient PC skills including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and ERP usage (COINS preferred).
• Ability to work in a continuous improvement environment.
• Team-focused collaboration with suppliers, customers, project teams, and accounting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Position Summary

This roleis responsible forassistingthepurchasing team with material orders, take offs, will call orders, data entry,expediting, invoicing errors and other duties that the purchasing managedeterminesneedssupport.

Position Details

• Assists Purchasingteam withplacing orders.

• Partners with suppliers tofollow-upon delivery dates and back orders.Tracks the status of all back orders and informsappropriate teammembers and departments of any issues.

• Maintains current andaccuratefiles ofsupplierspricing within the ERP system andpurchasingspreadsheets.

• Assistswith processing material receivers.Coordinatesbulk deliveries of rough products, to meetdeadlines.

• Assistswith processing material returns and credits.

• Supports the RFQ, RFP processes to obtain product information such as pricing, availability, and delivery schedule.

Qualifications

• High school degree or G.E.D

• Minimum1 yearexperienceinpurchasingor customer service support

• Basicofpurchasingpracticesandsystems preferred

• Basictime management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while planning and executingtimely, effectively, efficiently, and accurately

• Basicanalytical andproblem solvingskills, quality oriented, and strong attention to detailrequired

• Ability tooperatea personal computer using spreadsheet, word processing, data base software, and experience using ERP software. (COINS preferred)

• Ability to work in a continuous improvement environment

• Ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, project management team, field staff, and accounting in a team environment.
