Farm & Home Supply is seeking a Purchasing Support Associate to assist Purchasing Agents with vendor relationships, item entry, ad coordination, and reporting. You will help coordinate follow-ups, tests for EDI ordering, and provide administrative support to meet departmental purchasing goals.
The role requires strong Excel and MS Office skills, attention to detail, and good communication. Retail experience is a plus, with travel for trade shows up to twice yearly and a weight lifting
Reports to: Purchasing Agent / Director of Purchasing
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt/ Full-Time
This position supports Purchasing Agents within assigned departments by providing vendor customer service, coordinating follow-up on purchasing activities, and assisting with special projects as assigned by the Purchasing Agent or the Director of Purchasing. Responsibilities include maintaining effective vendor relationships, tracking project progress, ensuring timely follow-up, and providing administrative support to help achieve departmental purchasing objectives.
The ideal candidate must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, as well as excellent organizational abilities. They should be detail-oriented, highly accurate in data entry, and demonstrate solid mathematical and analytical skills, along with strong communication abilities. Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
