A family-owned company is seeking a Purchasing Agent for a full-time position. The role involves purchasing for shipyard equipment and bulk materials, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. Candidates must be adaptable, able to work in dynamic environments, and possess proficiency in Microsoft applications. A valid driver’s license and a background check are required.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Purchasing Agent works under the broad general direction of the Director of Procurement and Purchasing Manager.
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for specification and inquiry preparation, purchasing, expediting, bid analysis, and invoice auditing for shipyard equipment and bulk materials.
Must be dependable and available to work all 9-hour shifts as well as overtime as workload dictates is necessary. Required to perform other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
This is a family-owned company that has been in business for over 100 years. Maintaining a positive can-do attitude is a must. Required to be adaptable and willing to do tasks outside of your job description.

Relocation benefits are not applicable; therefore candidate should live in / around the Charleston area. Must have a valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles and operate equipment in a safe manner. Must pass a background check.
