Position Overview:

The Sales Order Coordinator at Gasser Chair plays a key role in managing and coordinating customer orders from entry to delivery. This role ensures all customer specifications are accurately captured and communicated. The role will act as a central point of contact for order-related inquiries and will proactively support both internal teams and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of quality materials.
  2. Negotiation: Negotiate purchase terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to secure cost-effective deals that meet quality standards and production timelines.
  3. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted production without excessive stock levels.
  4. Purchase Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
  5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all materials meet required standards, addressing any quality issues with suppliers as they arise.
  6. Cost Optimization: Continuously seek ways to reduce procurement costs through strategic sourcing, alternative materials, or improved supplier agreements.
  7. Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, material price fluctuations, and supplier innovations to make informed purchasing decisions.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely cross-functional teams to align purchasing activities with production needs and budget constraints.
  9. Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate supplier performance, including on-time delivery rates, quality consistency, and responsiveness, to ensure reliable supplier partnerships.
  10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and pricing changes; generate reports on purchasing activities and material costs for management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience in purchasing or procurement.
  2. Proven experience in a purchasing role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  4. Solid understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
  5. Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools to manage purchase orders, inventory, and vendor information.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on cost efficiency and quality assurance.
  7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  8. Knowledge of market trends, material cost factors, and industry best practices in procurement.

Physical Requirements:

The Purchasing Agent at Gasser Chair is expected to perform job duties primarily in an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor to inspect materials and verify specifications. The role requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs may be necessary. Occasional travel may be required to meet with suppliers or attend industry events.
