Job summary

Grand River Health in Rifle, Colorado is seeking a detail‑oriented Purchasing Agent to ensure departments have the supplies and resources needed to deliver exceptional patient care. • Purchase medical and non-medical supplies for hospital and departmental needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and support capital equipment purchasing and bidding processes.
• Generate, track, and expedite purchase orders through Meditech.
• Resolve backorders, recalls, invoice discrepancies, and supply requests.
• Maintain purchasing databases, PPE allocations, and supply charge processing.
• Support value analysis initiatives, inventory projects, and departmental cross-training.

What You’ll Do

At Grand River Hospital District, our Purchasing Agents play a vital role in ensuring departments across the organization have the supplies, equipment, and resources needed to provide exceptional patient care. In this collaborative role, you'll manage purchasing activities, maintain strong vendor relationships, support capital acquisitions, and help optimize supply chain operations throughout the health system.

• Purchase medical and non-medical supplies for hospital and departmental needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and support capital equipment purchasing and bidding processes.
• Generate, track, and expedite purchase orders through Meditech.
• Resolve backorders, recalls, invoice discrepancies, and supply requests.
• Maintain purchasing databases, PPE allocations, and supply charge processing.

• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of purchasing, supply chain, or related healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, inventory management, and healthcare supplies preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Meditech experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
