Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our Missouri-based plant team. The role focuses on vendor negotiations, cost-effective procurement, and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure equipment availability.

You will report to the plant manager and support maintenance and HSE activities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in purchasing, experience with ERP systems, and a manufacturing background, with strong time management and organizational skills to drive efficient

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a purchasing-related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• At least 5 years of related purchasing experience.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to collaborate across departments.
• Strong time management and prioritization.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze markets to assess material availability and determine cost effective procurement strategies.
• Locate vendors and interview them to determine product availability and terms.
• Implement purchasing and contract management policies.
• Develop specifications for equipment or substitute materials.
• Resolve vendor grievances and claims.
• Review purchase orders for conformance to policy.
• Administer online purchasing systems.
• Arrange disposal of surplus materials.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders.
• Ensure items are delivered timely and as specified.
• Represent company in negotiations with suppliers.
• Support inventory control of finished goods.
• Work with Maintenance Manager to procure spare parts.
• Support plant with HSE audit requirements.

Job Summary

ThePurchasing Agentwillmainly beresponsible for negotiating prices with vendors and contractors. This individual will also be working closely with various departments in the plant to ensure availability of equipment. This role will report directly to the plant manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyzemarketsto assess present and future material availability anddeterminecost effective procurement strategies for the company.
• Locate vendors of materials,equipmentor supplies, and interviewthemtodetermineproduct availability and terms of sales
• Implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment,productsor substitute materials

• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy

• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received
• Prepare and process requisitions andpurchaseorders for supplies, services,equipmentand raw materials
• Ensure purchased items are deliveredtimelyand as specified on the purchase order
• Represent company in negotiating with suppliers directly, in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
• Support inventory control of finished goods
• Work directly with Maintenance Manager andMaintenance Team to support maintenance activities and spare parts procurement
• Support plant with HSE audit requirements including internal and external reporting

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’sdegree in a purchasing-related field preferred, or equivalent work experiencedemonstratingrelevant knowledge and skills.
• Must have at least 5 years of working experience in a related role
• Must have experience using ERP systems
• Must have experience working in a manufacturing setting
• Must be able to collaborate with multiple individuals or departments
• Highly effective time management and task prioritization abilities
• Strong organizational skills
