Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Production Supervisor at our Bismarck, Missouri plant to oversee daily granule production in a high speed, continuous process environment. You will lead production staff, coordinate workflow, monitor schedules, and drive safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives to meet goals.

The role reports to the Production Manager and requires strong leadership, manufacturing experience, and a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in industrial technology, engineering, business administration, or management preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience in high-speed, continuous process manufacturing is an asset.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proven track record of operational improvements through employee engagement and team building.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset.
  • Understanding of MSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily granule production activities to meet production targets and customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to production employees to meet safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean/Six Sigma/5S methodologies with production teams.
  • Maintain a highly engaged workforce; collaborate with HR and HSE on performance, staffing and safety.
  • Collaborate with other production supervisors for operational consistency.
  • Manage attendance, performance, discipline and training per policy.
  • Mentor and evaluate direct reports and build an accountable team.
  • Ensure 5S housekeeping and safety program adherence.
  • Promote safety culture; investigate near-misses and hazards and report findings.
  • Adhere to MSHA safety standards and company procedures.
  • Lead crew meetings to communicate safety, quality, and production changes.
  • Improve production methods and equipment performance; work with maintenance and quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities within the granules manufacturing facility to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. This position leads production employees, coordinates workflow, monitors production schedules, maintains compliance with safety and quality standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational goals. This role will report to the Production Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily granule production activities to meet production targets and customer requirements.
  • Providing leadership and coaching to production employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals and objectives.
  • Providing leadership to drive continuous improvement through the application of methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, working directly with production team
  • Providing leadership to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Partners with HR and HSE in areas of performance management, employee involvement, organizational change, staffing, employee development, training, and safety.
  • Collaborate with other production supervisors to ensure operational consistency
  • Manage employee attendance, performance, discipline, and training in accordance with company policies.
  • Mentoring and evaluating immediate direct reports and establishing an effective team that is accountable and capable of achieving all performance goals.
  • Assuring plant housekeeping meets company standards, implements, and maintains a 5S program to sustain improvements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture where employees believe that all injuries are preventable. Investigate and prepare reports on safety near-misses, injuries, and workplace hazards.
  • Maintain adherence to Company and MSHA safety standards
  • Conduct regular crew meetings to provide production employees with the information they need to do their jobs. This includes communication of safety, quality and production changes, progress toward goals and overall plant performance.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Operate within standard operating and Quality procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with production, maintenance, and quality teams to identify and resolve production issues in an efficient manner and assist in the resolution of quality / production problems. Identify and eliminate root causes of problems and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirator when required.
  • May require rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and on-call support as needed.
