Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. in Missouri is seeking a Material Handling Coordinator for the Bismarck plant to manage receiving, inventory, and parts handling for maintenance and production needs.

The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires forklift competency, 1+ year in a similar role, and strong inventory control knowledge. Expect a safety-conscious, team-oriented environment with opportunities for improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and inventory control principles.
  • ABC warehousing fundamentals a plus.
  • Forklift license is an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills to update inventory records.
  • Ability to read and prepare packing slips and labels.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to traverse storeroom quickly and efficiently.
  • Physically able to maintain storeroom inventory and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and sort incoming parts and materials; operate a forklift to unload and move items as required.
  • Stock items in an orderly, accessible manner in the Parts Room and Satellite Storage areas; label and locate accurately.
  • Process incoming requisitions and issue or distribute parts to internal users.
  • Prepare and stage parts for upcoming PM work orders.
  • Review CMMS work orders and maintain records of orders and locations.
  • Prepare and submit orders to replenish stock items and supplies.
  • Complete cycle counts as needed and maintain min/max levels.
  • Prepare and package items for shipping to vendors for repair.

We are currently seeking a Material Handling Coordinator to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Bismarck, Missouri plant. This plant produces granules from raw material for our vertically integrated shingle manufacturing operation.

Job Summary
The Material Handling Coordinator is responsible for accurately receiving, organizing, and managing all parts and materials across the facility, ensuring inventory is properly stocked, tracked, and prepared to support maintenance and production needs. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Job Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and sort incoming parts and materials; operate a forklift to unload and move items as required
  • Stock items in an orderly, accessible manner in the Parts Room and Satellite Storage areas; establish and maintain proper labeling and location accuracy
  • Process incoming requisitions and issue or distribute parts and supplies to internal users
  • Prepare and stage parts for upcoming PM work orders
  • Review computer maintenance management system (CMMS) work orders
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, quantities, part types, cycle counts and storage locations
  • Prepare and submit orders to replenish stock items and supplies
  • Complete Cycle Counts as needed
  • Maintain appropriate Min/Max levels and unique identification for all spare parts, materials, supplies, and tools
  • Prepare and package items for shipping to vendors for repair when needed.
  • Advise planners, production personnel, and internal users on the appropriateness of requested parts, supplies, or materials
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and personal work area
  • Work with the supervisor to optimize parts organization and storage systems

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and inventory control principles
  • Understanding of ABC warehousing fundamentals is a plus
  • Mechanical parts knowledge is a plus
  • Forklift License is an asset
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to update and maintain computer inventory records
  • Ability to read and prepare packing slips and labels
  • Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must be able to traverse the storeroom quickly and efficiently
  • Physically able to maintain storeroom inventory and cleanliness
  • Requires sitting at a computer 50% - 70% shift. Requires walking through the plant to deliver parts on a routine basis.
  • Must be able to walk, see, stand, bend, and navigate stairs and ladders as needed, lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical skills, and be able to work independently when needed
