Job summary

MSC Cruises in the United States is expanding its procurement team. The Purchasing Agent will manage transactional procurement, create POs, track orders, and update stakeholders while collaborating with Sourcing, Logistics, Planning and Product teams for efficient purchasing processes.

This hybrid position requires four days in the Miami office (Mon–Thu) with optional remote work on Fridays. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years purchasing experience, preferably in cruise, and strong English

Qualifications

  • . College degree in Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • . 2–3 years purchasing experience; cruise line background preferred.
  • . Excellent written and verbal English.
  • . Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • . Knowledge of ERP systems; Crunchtime preferred.
  • . Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Review requisitions from shipboard personnel prior to purchase order creation.
  • Create purchase orders and monitor status throughout purchasing lifecycle.
  • Report shortages and delays to Procurement Manager to support corrective action.
  • Follow up with suppliers on deliveries prior to vessel loading.
  • Reconcile invoices and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with MSC policies and U.S. laws.

Your Purpose

MSC Cruises, the world’s third largest cruise line brand is expanding its Procurement team in the USA. Reporting to the MSC USA Procurement Manager, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing transactional procurement requests, including purchase order creation, order tracking, and timely processing of requisitions. This role monitors delivery status and provides timely updates to stakeholders, while collaborating with the Sourcing, Logistics, Planning and Product teams to ensure the proper execution of the ordering process. The Purchasing Agent also liaises with shipboard personnel to support efficient ordering and loading operations for U.S.-based vessels and MSC Ocean Cay.

This is a hybrid position requiring employees to work from the Miami office four days per week (Monday through Thursday), with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Your Impact
  • Review requisitions (RDA) received from shipboard personnel prior to purchase order creation.
  • Create purchase orders and monitor order status throughout the purchasing lifecycle.
  • Report shortages and delays to the Procurement Manager to support corrective action and local sourcing when required.
  • Provide ongoing support for contracted and non-contracted purchasing requests.
  • Follow up with suppliers on deliveries prior to vessel loadings.
  • Reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies related to goods received and payment issues.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to delays and discrepancies in accordance with Procurement procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and current information within the Company’s ERP, Procurement e-Platform and Discrepancy Reports.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Logistics, Planning, Product and shipboard teams to support efficient ordering and loading operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service levels, reduce order processing costs and lead times, minimize supply chain waste and support cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. federal laws and MSC policies and procedures.
Your Journey so far
  • College degree required, preferably in Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of purchasing experience; cruise line industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Crunchtime is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
