Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company in Charleston is seeking an Import Bids Analyst to handle customer enquiries and shipment documentation in line with MSC guidelines. This on-site role requires accurate data entry and close coordination with shippers, consignees and agencies.

You will monitor shipments in the MSC IT system, maintain documentation, build productive customer relationships, and respond promptly to milestones and details, while adhering to corporate procedures and escalating

Responsibilities

• Enter and monitor shipment information through use of MSC proprietary IT system.
• Liaise with shippers, consignees, government agencies and overseas offices as necessary.
• Assume documentary and customer service responsibility for all assigned shipments.
• Maintain efficient ocean shipments documentation and correspondence.
• Establish and maintain positive relationship with customers.
• Efficiently routing all files and shipments.
• Provide timely and accurate response to customer inquiries regarding transportation milestones and shipment details.
• Observe corporate guidelines when addressing customer inquiries regarding shipments.
• Escalate unique or complex customer issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
• Generate potential solutions to customer issues.
• Provide feedback regarding current corporate practices and metrics to order to support process efficiencies.
• Presence required on-site 5 days per week
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

• Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, call center, administrative or clerical jobs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
• Must be able to commute to the designated office location
• Presence required on-site 5 days per week

WORK AUTHORIZATION

• Authorization to work in the U.S

This role requires working on-site in the office for five days aweek, from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role, unless required off-site duties are being performed.
