The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Purchasing Agent to manage formal bid processes for purchasing, contracting and procurement activities. You will oversee the Purchasing Division in the absence of the Purchasing Manager and coordinate with Transit and Airport stakeholders.
The role requires at least two years in purchasing, an allied associate degree, and preferred certification as a Local Government Purchasing Officer.
Hiring Range: $27.76 - $35.40/Hour D.O.Q.

The City of Fayetteville iscurrently recruiting fora Purchasing Agent to perform the formal bid process activities involved in establishing complex purchasing, construction and repair contracts, and ordering of supplies, materials and equipment. Oversee the work of the Purchasing Division in the absence of the Purchasing Manager.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Two years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
Training: Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited two-year community/technical college with a degree/certification in business, business management, statistics or a related field.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: None.
Preferred: Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer.
From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.
