Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Procurement: Select services and materials based on competitive pricing and ensure alignment with procurement policies.
- Cost Management: Lead efforts to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency within assigned categories.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to secure consistent, high-quality materials.
- Data Analysis: Generate and analyze procurement reports to support quoting, cost analysis, and decision-making.
- Supplier Evaluation: Identify and assess new vendors, ensuring they meet company standards and compliance requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product Development to introduce standard materials and support new product initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
- Category Management: Oversee procurement for designated categories, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between corporate purchasing and suppliers, addressing product changes and quality issues.
- Problem Resolution: Collaborate with vendors to resolve billing or payment discrepancies raised by production sites.
- Strategic Planning: Support long-term planning and continuous improvement initiatives for assigned categories.
- Negotiation: Develop and execute strategies for sourcing, negotiations, and contracts that meet company objectives.
- Process Improvement: Help enhance procurement systems, processes, and training to better support company and plant needs.
- Operational Support: Provide procurement support to manufacturing locations as needed.
- Supplier Performance: Track and assess supplier performance on raw materials and services.
- ERP Management: Maintain accurate ERP data related to vendors and materials.
- Budgeting: Assist with budget development and cost forecasting.
- Travel: Up to 25% travel may be required for supplier meetings and procurement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP systems
- Background in homebuilding or construction is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
