$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

The Purchasing Agent for Pressure Connections Corp. (PCC) owns the purchasing function. The ideal candidate has critical thinking skills and can evaluate situations and the proper course of action to drive vendor relationships and achieve ideal inventory levels, sourcing products domestically and internationally.

PCC is seeking a full-time in-office Purchasing Agent for our Columbus, Ohio, location.

Responsibilities:

  • Placing and managing purchase orders to meet inventory requirements domestically and internationally.
  • Expediting purchase orders to fulfill customer requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Developing new and maintaining existing vendor relationships.
  • Creating and maintaining item data.
  • Review, set up, and update item replenishment methods and stocking levels to achieve the correct balance of inventory value.
  • Effective communications with vendors and staff via email, phone, and in person to convey information and to strengthen relationships.
  • International shipment management from BOL to receipt of goods, including customs, duties, and tariff requirements.

Core Priorities:

  • Enter purchase orders for domestic (daily) and international vendors (monthly).
  • Expedite past due items and maintain accurate and up-to-date expected dates for the customer service and sales team.
  • Get price and delivery information.
  • Acknowledgement of purchase orders.
  • Resolve PO discrepancies.
  • Request and resolve Return Good Authorizations.
  • Approve and order special requirement items for customers.
  • Approve new international containers and manage the document process.
  • Set up and process Production order items to meet required dates.
  • Seek, develop, and manage potential new vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Standards:

  • Required purchase orders are placed daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • All domestic POs acknowledged within 24 hours.
  • All international POs are acknowledged within 24 hours.
  • All requested expedited items are completed within 24 hours.
  • All unapproved orders are reviewed and required actions are taken within 24 hours.
  • PO discrepancies are reviewed and acted upon as reported and resolved within 24 hours.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years in purchasing
  • Advanced ERP experience
  • Experience with international purchasing
  • Sourcing experience
  • Experience with purchasing models
  • Experience with 3rd party freight forwarders
  • Microsoft Excel experience
