Job summary

Qualifications

PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS

The food and beverage purchasing supervisor is primarily responsible for the ordering and receiving of all products used in the food and beverage department. Including, meat, seafood, dairy, dry goods. beer, liquor, wine, paper products, office supply, small wares and other needed items. Secondary goals being maintaining Food and Beverage checkbooks and ensuring prompt and correct payment to vendors with in prescribed budget. Additionally, this role assists the accounting department though daily reconciliation of cash drops, due backs, and house banks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Orders and maintains inventory for: food store rooms including: meat, seafood, dry goods, paper & disposable products, Starbucks food and beverage supplies, liquor, beer and wine inventory, all food and beverage small wares
  • Confirm receipt of shipment and ensure product count matches that of purchase orders, keeping accurate records and communicating with vendors regarding any discrepancies or issues
  • Participates in discipline specific meetings ie: department head, group pick up, menu review.Participates in other internal and external meetings at the direction of Food & Beverage Director ie: revenue management, financial statement etc.
  • Codes and categorizes all food and beverage invoices, verifies statements from all vendors have been paid
  • Leads period end inventories for Starbucks, food storerooms and all liquor locations
  • Maintains cleanliness of dry storage, walk in cooler, and liquor room, though proper rotation of stock, and removing excess packaging or boxes.
  • Prepare daily cash deposits and process cash due backs as needed.
  • Process incoming and outgoing house banks, and maintain master control book of all house bank contracts.
  • Issue resort gift cards
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to operate independently and with a high degree of autonomy requiring excellent time management skills and self-motivation.
  • Hotel product and industry knowledge, i.e., staffing, operations, safety, security, structural, terminology, fire, police and health codes, hotel policies, city ordinances.
  • Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Micros.
  • Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Strong organizational abilities
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.One to two years of general business experience, hotel accounting experience strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding daily administrative and accounting duties.
