What to expect:

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pump Technician to diagnose and repair various water pumps. This role will be based out of our Fort Calhoun Mine and will support operations in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas City. This position will work in both surface and underground mining operations.

A typical day for a Pump Technician may include:

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, removing, installing, repairing, replacing, or rebuilding a variety of centrifugal industrial pumps as well as gear reducers and other related rotating equipment either in-house or in the field.
• Analyzing and documenting the cause of failure.
• Determining replacement parts required to complete repair.
• Assuring satisfaction with quality repair and fast turnaround time.
• Adhering to all safety requirements.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

You may be a good fit if you:

• Have 4 years of experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Have experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining different types of pumps.
• Are able to achieve results with minimal supervision.
• Have a valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Are able to interact with leaders, peers and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
