Job summary

Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support daily production and resolve engineering issues for engineered pump system builds.

Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure accurate build packages, smooth assembly, and strong manufacturing readiness. Identify process improvements and reduce recurring build interruptions while supporting cross‑functional teams on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–7 years in manufacturing engineering or production support (heavy equipment/pump systems a plus).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with drawings, routings, BOMs, and ERP workflows (NAV/Business Central preferred).
• Familiarity with engineering change processes and configuration management.
• Experience reviewing vendor drawings and coordinating with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support on the production floor and troubleshoot build issues.
• Address fit‑up concerns, rework decisions, and documentation gaps.
• Review and validate build packages, routings, drawings, and BOM accuracy.
• Support Quality with incoming material discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Assist with Engineering Change Requests and drawing updates.
• Review vendor drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Track manufacturing engineering metrics and support readiness reporting.
• Identify process improvements and reduce recurring build interruptions.
• Provide technical support to cross‑functional teams.
