Job summary

City of Olathe is seeking a Pump Station Maintenance Technician I to join a team responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater pump stations and related infrastructure.

The role involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and data entry related to asset management. A Class A CDL is required within six months, with in-house CDL training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and maintaining electrical systems or pumps preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Courses in electrical and/or pump maintenance are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs pump station electrical components; performs preventive and breakdown maintenance on lift stations, including controls, pumps, and valves.
• Operates equipment such as trucks, excavators, CCTV equipment, and power tools; participates in housekeeping duties and grounds maintenance.
• Participates in on-call duties and first response to pump station failures and wastewater emergencies.
• Works with City staff and external customers to resolve equipment-related issues and provide updates to management.
• Provides guidance and training to department staff on equipment operation and responsibilities.
