Job summary

Pajaro Regional Flood Management Agency is seeking a Pump Station Maintenance Electrical/Mechanical Worker to install, repair, and maintain pump stations and related control systems. This hands-on role requires journey-level mechanical and electrical skills and the ability to work independently or with a small crew.

You will troubleshoot pumps, generators, PLCs, and SCADA equipment, perform inspections, respond to storm-related outages, keep logs, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• Five years journey-level mechanical experience with pumps, diesel and gasoline engines.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, control panels, sensors, PLCs.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pump station mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems such as control panels, sensors, switches, wiring, and PLCs.
• Conduct routine inspections and performance monitoring of pump stations.
• Respond to emergency callouts during storms, high-flow events, or equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment inventories.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and PRFMA engineering staff on repairs or upgrades.
• Follow safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and confined-space rules.
• Assist with flood-control facility maintenance as needed.
• Support other maintenance workers during lulls.
