Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a skilled pump repair technician to perform repair and maintenance of Sulzer and other manufacturers’ pumping equipment. You will work under limited supervision, adhering to OEM and industry standards and company policies.

Key duties include assembling and disassembling pumps, inspecting components, recording measurements, determining materials, and performing final testing and inspections to ensure equipment meets hydraulic and performance requirements.

Qualifications

• Analytical and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Attention to detail is critical for inspections.
• Extensive knowledge of and ability to use hand tools, precision measuring and testing equipment and machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pump equipment to specifications for customers and OEMs.
• Disassemble equipment to access and inspect components.
• Inspect and record component measurements and prepare inspection reports.
• Investigate root cause failures and determine repairs.
• Set up and operate dynamic balancing equipment and perform final testing.

About the role

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, performs all necessary tasks in the repair and maintenance of Sulzer Pumps’ and all other manufacturers’ pumping equipment while strictly adhering to customer, OEM and industry standard specifications. Follows department policy and procedures manual.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembling all types of pump equipment to customers, OEM and industry standard specifications
• Disassembling equipment to gain access remove, clean and inspect components
• Inspecting & recording component measurements using instruments, tools and gages and providing inspection report
• Investigating and determining root cause failure
• Determining proper materials for repairs as per BOM
• Contouring impellers and pump casings to meet hydraulic requirements
• Setting and operating dynamic balancing equipment
• Performing final testing and inspections

Qualifications / Requirements

• Analytical and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Extensive knowledge of and ability to use hand tools, precision measuring and testing equipment and machine shop equipment
• Minimum five (5) years of pump repair experience
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Ability to travel to and work at customer sites
• Ability to work overtime
