Job summary

Compass Resourcing Group, LLC is seeking a Pump Assembly Mechanic for a contract-to-hire role with a leading pump manufacturer in Louisiana. Ideal candidates have experience assembling and repairing rotating equipment and grinding machined parts.

Must lift 50–75 lbs, climb ladders, and stand long periods while using hand tools, impact tools and torque wrenches. OT and weekend work may be required; training under senior mechanics is available.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years overall mechanical / pump repair experience.
• Experience with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines) preferred.
• Heavy assembly experience preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and repair rotating equipment.
• Assist in hydro-testing procedures or learn hydro-testing.
• Grinding of machined parts as required.
• Use impact tools and torque wrenches.
• Support technicians and keep the shop area clean.

Job description

Excellent contract-to-hire opportunity for a Pump Assembly Mechanic at an industry leading industrial pump manufacturer. Ideal candidates will have experience assembling/building, or repairing rotating equipment, perform grinding on machined parts such as casings, be able to hydro-test or be willing to learn hydro-testing procedures, and have experience with impact tools and torque wrenches. Other mechanical experience will be considered - valve assembly/repair, compressors, oil field equipment, etc.

Assembly Mechanic Experience:

• 1-4 years overall mechanical / vehicle / pump repair experience
• Experience with rotating equipment (ex: pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.) is preferred
• Heavy assembly experience preferred
• Experience with impact tools, torque wrenches, and grinding metal parts
• Must have a good set of basic hand tools
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of lifting 50 - 75 lbs.
• Able to climb ladders
• Stand for long periods of time
• Use a variety of hand tools, impact tools, torque wrenches

Additional Job Expectations:

• Assist in other job duties, and work overtime and weekends as needed or required
• Help keep work area clean
• Be willing to assist technicians in other areas of the shop (i.e. Testing, shipping, etc.)
• Willing to learn and train under senior mechanics
