Job summary

Taco, Inc. in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Pump Assembler for our production team. You will pull parts, assemble pumps from engineering drawings, and follow established standards on the shop floor.

This is a full-time, first-shift, onsite position that supports our growing manufacturing operations. The role requires reading and interpreting work orders, maintaining quality, and adhering to safety rules. Candidates should have a high school diploma, mechanical experience, and the ability to lift up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain forklift driving certification.
• 2+ years of mechanical experience.
• Read and translate detailed work orders into the pump assembly process.
• Use hand tools and lifting equipment for pump assembly.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor and peers in a team.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, up to 150 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Verify parts are correct and available for assembly.
• Lift/move materials and equipment as required.
• Use lift methods for electric hoist.
• Assemble pump parts per work orders and drawings.
• Use hydraulic press, drills, wrenches, calipers during assembly.
• Perform spot checks and verify measurements.
• Sign off on quality control inspections.
• Adhere to safety policies and wear PPE.
• Maintain clean, safe work area.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Pump Assembler pulls parts as defined in customer work orders and assembles pumps using engineering drawings in accordance with established standards.

Measures of Success

• Achieve the production plan as defined in the annual budget
• Maintains inventory accuracy and performs cycle counts as defined in the branch’s annual objectives
• 100% compliance with Hydroflo’s safety requirements
• No assembly related customer complaints

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Verifies that all parts are correct and available to assemble current job.
• Lifts and carries materials and equipment throughout work areas using appropriate equipment.
• Uses proper lift methods for using electric hoist.
• Assembles assigned product parts in accordance with work orders, Bill of Materials, blueprints and engineering drawings, following production standards and guidelines.
• Uses hydraulic press, air drills, hand wrenches, tape measures and calipers during assembly.
• Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards. Verifies measurements for accuracy and reports any problems or discrepancies to management.
• Signs quality control inspection sheet for each completed job.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
• Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines. Safety shoes are mandatory.
• Maintains neat and orderly work areas at all times.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to achieve forklift driving certification
• 2+ years of mechanical experience
• Must be able to read and understand detailed work orders and translate that information into the pump assembly process, including basic math and measurement conversions
• Able to work with hands using small hand tools, lifts, etc., for pump assembly process
• Ability to manage multiple projects where priority changes based on customer demand is frequent
• Capability of communicating easily with supervisor and peers in a team environment
• Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and up to 150 pounds with assistance

This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports into the site every day.

This position has no direct reports.
