Job summary

Ohio Machinery Co. is seeking a Pump and Shoring Field Service Technician to join our team.

The role requires frequent travel to Ohio CAT locations and customer sites, with responsibilities to troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel pumps, and HDPE pipe fusion equipment. The position involves setting up temporary pumping systems, operating from a service truck, and occasional on-call hours, overtime, and overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college/technical field education a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in construction, power equipment, and pump/shoring service/repair.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• HDPE Pipe Fusion experience a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• DOT Medical Certification Card, or ability to obtain before employment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair general equipment, electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel-powered water pumps, and HDPE Pipe fusion equipment.
• Set up temporary pumping systems and perform normal machine repairs in a safe manner.
• Travel frequently to Ohio CAT locations and customer sites; operate from an Ohio CAT service truck.
• Work in various environments; on-call, overtime, occasional overnight stays; possible weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Pump and Shoring Field Service Technician to join our growing team! This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT locations and customer locations. The Field Service Technician will troubleshoot and repair general equipment, electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel-powered water pumps, HDPE Pipe fusion equipment, set up temporary pumping systems, and perform normal machine repair in a safe manner. Field Service technicians work from an Ohio CAT service truck in the elements. This position requires travel, on-call, overtime, occasional overnight stays, and ability to work weekend hours and holidays.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, or experience with construction or power equipment are required; strong knowledge of DC electrical and machine electronics is crucial.
• Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates, as required.
• Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong computer and software skills are required.
• A willingness to study and learn new job-related skills and technical information is required

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus.
• 5+ years of experience related to construction, power equipment, and pump/shoring equipment service and repair is required.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• HDPE Pipe Fusion experience is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License required, with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio Machinery Co. standards.
• Must have valid DOT Medical Certification Card, or the ability to obtain before employment.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling. Standing, sitting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
