Summary

We are looking for a Pump and Shoring Field Service Technician to join our growing team! This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT locations and customer locations. A willingness to study and learn new job‑related skills and technical information is required. The Field Service Technician will troubleshoot and repair general equipment, diesel‑powered water pumps, HDPE pipe fusion, set up temporary pumping systems, electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform normal machine repair in a safe manner. Field Service technicians work from an Ohio CAT service truck in the elements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, or experience with construction or power equipment are required; strong knowledge of DC electrical and machine electronics is crucial.
• Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates, as required.
• Must be organized, self‑motivated, and able to work without direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong computer and software skills are required.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• High school graduate minimum; college and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus. Ten years of experience related to construction or power equipment service and repair is required.
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio Machinery standards (4 or fewer moving violation points).

Physical Requirements

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50 lb pulling. Standing, sitting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
