Job summary

Leidos' Directed Energy team in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced Pulsed Power Engineer to advance R&D of next-generation pulsed-power devices and HPM sources at cutting-edge laboratories with AFRL on Kirtland AFB. You will design, test, and characterize high-voltage systems in lab and field environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with pulsed-power hardware, data acquisition, and analysis tools, plus strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineers and researchers. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience or Master's with 2+ years.
• Hands-on experience designing, testing, or operating pulsed-power devices and systems.
• Experience with high-voltage and high-current pulsed systems and related technologies.
• Experience with laboratory testing and characterization of pulsed-power/HPM systems.
• Proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools (oscilloscopes, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and characterize pulsed-power devices and HPM systems.
• Plan and execute laboratory and field tests with defined objectives.
• Develop high-speed diagnostic and data-acquisition systems.
• Implement measurement techniques for high-voltage/current, high-frequency signals.
• Analyze data to characterize performance and guide design iterations.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, RF/microwave, and test engineers.
• Document designs, tests, results, and recommendations.
