Job summary

SARA, Inc. High Power Electromagnetics Division in Colorado Springs seeks a Pulsed Power Engineer to advance rapid R&D for DoD/DoE programs. You will design, analyze, and test high‑power pulsed power systems and RF/power electronics in a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a solid foundation in pulsed power, electromagnetics, and high‑voltage insulation, with hands‑on hardware experience. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 2–4 years of Pulsed Power, Power Electronics, High Power Solid-State Switching, Applied Electromagnetics, High Voltage (1 to 100s of kilovolts)
  • Able to clearly communicate experimental procedures, data, and analyses on paper, and deliver technical briefings in face-to-face communication scenarios
  • Must work and communicate well with others and be capable of multitasking and managing time effectively to meet project objectives

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design, analysis, and testing of high‑power pulsed power systems
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities from conception through implementation
  • Develop and apply SPICE simulations and high‑speed diagnostics for system optimization
  • Collaborate with DoD/DoE programs and other contractors to deliver reliable solutions
