Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks an R&D Electrical Engineer for the M-6 Group within Dynamic Experiments to design, test, and deploy high‑speed analog/digital electronics, high‑voltage and high‑current circuits, and capacitor‑discharge systems. You will own designs, iterate with scientists, and support fielded assemblies in a cutting‑edge setting at LANL in Los Alamos, NM.

Responsibilities include translating requirements, developing test plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Engineering: Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering and circuit/assembly design.
• Design and Fielding: Translate requirements into electrical designs and test plans.
• Engineering Tools: Proficient with circuit design software and PCB layout tools.
• Technical Ownership and Learning: Own hardware lifecycle and learn specialized physics.
• Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts into fieldable electronic assemblies from design to deployment.
• Own the technical lifecycle and act as SME for assigned designs.
• Develop new designs while modernizing legacy M-6 hardware.
• Integrate analog electronics with digital controllers and troubleshoot.
