Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Fiberline Operator for our Perdue Hill, AL (ARC) facility. The Fiberline Operator safely operates pulping and bleaching process equipment to meet mill production and quality goals. The role involves twelve-hour rotating shifts with overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.

The position pays $25.34 per hour, with a 4 days on, 7 off, 4 nights, 3 off, 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights, 3 off rotation (5:00 am–5:00 pm days; 5:00 pm–5:00 am nights).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Process Operations or Electrical/Instrumentation OR two (2) or more years of experience in a farming, carpentry, construction, warehouse, military, production, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device.

Responsibilities

• Monitor process variables to maintain efficient process operations and meet department quality, cost, and production goals.
• Progress through the appropriate skills level checklist in a timely manner with the goal to advance to the Daily Operating Center Position.
• Perform equipment cleanup and operator basic care including minor maintenance tasks and troubleshooting.
• Perform railcar and tanker truck loading and unloading operations for hazardous materials produced or consumed in the process.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules & regulations to include wearing required safety equipment.
• Attend and complete mandatory and ongoing trainings.
