Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Product Unit Operator for our Perdue Hill, AL (ARC). The role involves safely operating production machines in a tough industrial environment to meet production and quality goals, with a complex 12-hour rotating shift schedule and required overtime.

The position pays $25.34 per hour. You will work at the Alabama River Cellulose mill as part of the ARC team, with opportunities to progress through skill levels and participate in safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Process Operations or Electrical/Instrumentation or 2+ years in a related environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet or smart device.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot equipment within the Pulp Machine scope.
• Advance through multiple skills levels to learn all operating systems.
• Perform equipment cleanup and basic care, including minor maintenance.
• Monitor process variables to maintain efficient Pulp Machine operations.
• Work twelve hour rotating shifts; may be part of Fire and Rescue Team.
• Adhere to safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Attend mandatory trainings and complete ongoing trainings.
• Lift, walk, climb, stoop, push and pull as part of duties.
