This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement, while managing frontline supervisors and driving performance across pulp and paper processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily production activities across pulp/paper manufacturing operations to ensure throughput, quality, and safety targets are met
  • Manage and develop supervisors and hourly teams (coaching, accountability, performance management)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN, Kaizen, OEE improvement, waste reduction, downtime reduction)
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to prioritize downtime events, PM execution, and reliability improvements
  • Monitor KPIs and production metrics including tons per day, yield, waste, uptime, quality rejects, and safety performance
  • Ensure adherence to all safety standards including LOTO, PPE compliance, and safe work practices
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and team development
  • Coordinate with Quality and Environmental teams to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Participate in daily/weekly production meetings and provide reporting/forecasting to plant leadership
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in pulp/paper manufacturing operations (Superintendent, Production Manager, Area Manager, Shift Manager, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of paper mill operations, process flow, and plant‑wide production execution
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and improve performance metrics
  • Experience with continuous improvement frameworks (LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen, RCA)
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate cross‑functionally
