Job summary

Phillips Staffing is now seeking a Pulp Machine Operator for a client located in Piedmont, SC. The ideal candidate would be a multitasker who could work in a medium to fast paced environment for a sustainable environment friendly company in the Upstate.

Responsibilities include inspecting pulp, operating pumps, coordinating with production lines, disposing of scraps, maintaining chemical totes, and keeping a safe, clean workplace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Read and write English.
• Basic math skills.
• Forklift experience.
• Able to stand for extended periods and to work overtime.
• Follow dress code and PPE guidelines.

• Visually inspect raw material and pulp for contaminants and remove items.
• Operate pumps and troubleshoot/maintain equipment to ensure proper function.
• Coordinate with previous and next lines to maintain workflow.
• Dispose of metal and plastic scraps in designated recycling bin.
• Maintain chemical totes and ensure they are refilled.
• Keep the work area clean and safe while meeting safety and quality standards.
• Prepare raw material loads for the upcoming shift.
• Support a positive environment to boost productivity.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Visually inspecting both raw material and pulp several times throughout your shift for any string, metal or plastic material to immediately remove from pulp.
• Operate pumps while troubleshooting, repairing and/or maintaining all equipment to ensure proper function.
• Liaising with previous and next lines of production work for continuous work flow.
• Proper disposal of all foreign metal and plastic scraps in designated recycling bin.
• Maintain all chemical totes ensuring they are properly refilled throughout shift.
• Maintain a clean/safe work environment while complying with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare raw material loads for oncoming shift.
• Behave in a positive manner that enhances productivity and success of the company.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent
• Read and write English
• Basic math skills
• Forklift experience
• Able to work overtime as needed and to stand for extended periods of time
• Follow dress code including PPE guidelines as specified for the position

Shift: 7pm to 7am - Friday to Sunday

Pay: $19.50
