Job summary

KOPA, Inc. in partnership with Avante at Leesburg is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive care at a skilled nursing facility in Leesburg, FL. The NP will diagnose conditions, order tests, prescribe treatments, educate patients and families, and mentor a team of NPs.

This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to patient-centered care, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a skilled nursing facility, minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices.
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and staff.
• Strong ethics and professional integrity in clinical settings.
• Team spirit with a positive attitude and collaborative approach.
• Patience and cool-headedness in challenging situations.
• Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience.
• Valid nurse practitioner license in the state of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and their medical records.
• Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, imaging, etc.).
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses.
• Propose and implement treatments for chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain accurate records and schedules.
• Inform patients about health conditions and prescribed medications.
• Educate patients and families on diseases, epidemics and prevention.
• Oversee patients' overall health and care coordination.
• Promote good health practices and preventive care.
• Advance professional knowledge and conduct research.
• Supervise and mentor a team of nurse practitioners.
• Review documentation and provide clinical feedback.
• Lead team meetings and care planning sessions.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new NPs.
• Help monitor performance and ongoing development.
• Act as liaison between NP team and facility leadership.
• Assist in creating and refining workflows, protocols, and best practices.
• Provide coverage at other Florida facilities when needed (in-state travel).
