Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the Pulmonary Medicine team. 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 7:30-4 or 8-4:30, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call.

The role includes triage, patient rooming, pulmonary function testing, CPAP therapy coordination, and patient education. Required: Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent, NY license, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate.
• New York State Respiratory Therapist license with current registration, including credentials received prior to 9/1993.
• OR New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) license AND NBRC CRT credentials.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• 1-year pulmonary function testing experience preferred.
• PFT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively triages calls and greets patients; collects information.
• Conducts pulmonary function testing and other testing per scope of practice.
• Provides CPAP equipment and educates patients and families on use.
• Coordinates care with DME providers and other services.
• Supports and maintains clinical activities and supplies within the practice.
• Educates patients on pulmonary diseases and sleep disorders.
