Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Magnet-designated 8 Mountain PCU to deliver high-acuity, patient-centered care focusing on pulmonary and respiratory conditions. You will lead nursing coordination, deliver individualized care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

This full-time weekend-only position requires VA RN licensure, BLS-HCP, EPIC proficiency, and a commitment to evidence-based care, performance improvement, and staff mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing school approved to sit for the VA licensure exam.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• BLS-HCP certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required based on unit needs.
• Computer skills required for EPIC EHR use.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for all ages.
• Document admissions and assessments in EPIC.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary age-specific plans of care.
• Revise plans as patient status changes.
• Accurately administer treatments and medications; document all interventions.
• Mentor new employees and provide feedback to staff.
• Contribute to unit, hospital, and system activities; support staff participation in decision-making.
