Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville seeks a Respiratory Therapist specialized in Pulmonary Function Testing to deliver high-quality diagnostic testing in outpatient settings.

You will work independently with patients, rotating through outpatient locations, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to support diagnostic decisions and treatment planning. Opportunities for certification and professional growth are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy educational program.
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy required within 5 years of hire/transfer for all hires/transfers after 2019.
• 12 months of acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy clinical experience required.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with NBRC; Licensed to practice in Virginia; AHA BLS required; NBRC specialty credential within 2 years; ACLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function testing and diagnostic respiratory assessments.
• Educate patients on testing procedures and ensure high-quality, reliable results.
• Independently manage patient testing schedules and clinic responsibilities.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses and specialty clinic teams.
