Keck Hospital of USC seeks a qualified Respiratory Care Professional to perform Pulmonary Function Studies and arterial blood gas analyses, ensuring rapid, accurate results. You will maintain equipment, manage patient records, and support perioperative respiratory therapy in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians, performing quality control, and ensuring compliance with CAP and ATS/AARC standards, while maintaining patient safety and documentation

Qualifications

• Req High School or equivalent
• Req Specialized/technical training Completion of an accredited two-year program related to Respiratory Care.
• Req 3 years Respiratory Care and Blood Gas Analysis.
• Req Pulmonary Function Studies.
• Req Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
• Req Able to function independently and as a member of a team.
• Req Respiratory Care Practitioner - RCP (CA DCA)
• Req Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT (NBRC) OR CPFT; OR RPFT from NBRC.
• Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
• Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
• Pref Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American H

Responsabilités

• Perform Pulmonary Function Studies (PFT) and arterial blood gas analyses.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charges.
• Rotate standby/callback for OR weekends and nights.
• Perform and document maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, ATS and AARC standards.
• Communicate with attending physicians and department managers as needed.
• Provide respiratory therapy to preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative patients.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Contribute to quality control and proficiency testing requirements.
