Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited two-year program related to Respiratory Care.
• 3 years of Respiratory Care and Blood Gas Analysis experience.
• Pulmonary Function Studies proficiency.
• CPFT/RPFT or RRT credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pulmonary Function Studies that are technically adequate and reproducible.
• Analyze arterial, venous and mixed venous blood samples for pH, gases, Hb, electrolytes, and glucose.
• Maintain equipment and perform quality control per CAP and department guidelines.
• Document results, prepare charges, and maintain patient records accurately.
• Schedule patients for Pulmonary Function Studies and coordinate with staff.
