Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Respiratory Care professional with CPFT eligibility and NBRC credentials. The role includes administering pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, and patient care across respiratory procedures.

Two years in a Pulmonary Lab or Respiratory Care is preferred; CPFT within 6 months and RRT license are required. Teaching students and maintaining equipment are key duties in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA program for respiratory care or NBRC registry eligibility.
• Two years experience in a Pulmonary Lab and/or Respiratory Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes a cooperative work environment through communication and teamwork.
• Obtains arterial blood gases for acid-base and oxygenation status to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Calibrates all equipment daily to ensure accuracy against specifications.
• Ensures quality improvement activities to uphold laboratory standards.
• Provides a clinical experience for students to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Administers pulmonary function testing including spirometry and flow-volume loops with/without bronchodilator.
• Performs six minute walk test, pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy, and nebulizer treatments.
• Obtains diagnostic testing results with optimal patient effort.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
• Administers medications during testing per protocols and departmental procedures.
• Ensures age-appropriate patient care per Age-Specific Care Guidelines.
