Job summary

IHA's St. Peter’s Hospital Pulmonary Function Lab seeks a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist for day shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00am-4:00pm). You will perform diagnostic respiratory tests to diagnose lung disease and disorders, ensuring quality and safety in testing procedures.

Must hold NY licensure as an RRT with NBRC credentials; 1 year of PFT lab experience preferred. Proficiency in iSTAT and Hemocue testing, plus flexibility to float between SPHP locations.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in New York.
• Must hold NBRC RRT credentials.
• 1 year of experience in a PFT lab preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
• BLS and ACLS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic pulmonary function studies, cardiopulmonary tests, and related assessments.
• Operates point-of-care testing with iSTAT and Hemocue devices.
• Assists with pretesting of pulmonary rehabilitation patients.
• Calibrates and maintains equipment for quality and safety.
• Adheres to ATS standards for pulmonary function testing.
