Job summary

Ascension Via Christi Manhattan Hospital in Manhattan, KS, seeks a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician for inpatient ICU coverage and a developing outpatient clinic.

Board-eligible/board-certified in pulmonary and critical care is required. Inpatient emphasis, ventilator management, bronchoscopy, and collaborative care with support staff are essential. Full-time employment with competitive benefits through Ascension.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
  • Licensure/certification to practice in Kansas required before hire.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pulmonary and critical care consultations in the inpatient setting.
  • Manage ICU patients including ventilator management and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Perform pulmonary procedures such as bronchoscopy as clinically indicated.
  • Develop an outpatient pulmonary clinic from the ground up.
  • Ensure accurate medical documentation in the EMR.

$50,000 sign-on bonus and $10,000 relocation assistance

This job location is currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
  • Provide pulmonary & Critical care consultation services in the inpatient setting
  • Manage critically ill patients in the ICU, including ventilator management and multidisciplinary care coordination
  • Perform pulmonary procedures as clinically indicated, including bronchoscopy and related diagnostic/therapeutic procedures
  • Develop and build an outpatient pulmonary clinic practice from the ground up
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, lung nodules, interstitial lung disease, sleep-related breathing disorders, and pulmonary infections
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within electronic medical record

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
