Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Greenspring Campus, supporting Sarcoidosis and Interstitial Lung Diseases and general pulmonology.

You will collaborate with physicians, APPs, trainees, nurses and staff to deliver high-quality patient care and coordinate care across teams. Maryland RN license required; ACLS preferred; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Maryland or practicing state.
• Ability to communicate with patients and care teams to coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions regarding patient care within scope.
• Advocate for patients and families; ensure high quality care.
• Maintain accountability with patients, families, and staff.
• Exercise independent professional judgement within scope.
• Adapt to changes in technology, policies and practices.
• Assist with Epic In Basket management (results, advice requests, prescriptions, authorizations).
• Triages clinical patient calls as directed by physicians or NPs.
• Contact patients with test results as directed by physicians.
• Submit orders for signature as appropriate and requested.
• Assist with prior authorization requests.
• Attend outpatient clinics to assist with prescriptions, labs, education, and care coordination.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations Leaders for quality/process improvements.
• Potential participation in clinical research studies.
• Other duties as assigned.
