Job summary

Bernalillo Public Schools is seeking a Performance Management Coordinator to support engagement with Pueblo leaders, oversee compliance with the NM Indian Education Act, and expand educational supports for Native American students across district schools and seven partner Pueblo communities.

Reporting to the Director of Indian Education, the Coordinator will help plan culturally responsive programs, prepare agendas for leadership meetings, track program outcomes, and assist in grant applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public administration, Native American studies, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• Experience working with Native American communities, Tribal or Pueblo governments, or Indian education programs preferred.
• Knowledge of the New Mexico Indian Education Act and related state/federal requirements.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work with Pueblo governments, families, and communities.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Pueblo governors, education departments, and community stakeholders; prepare agendas and follow-up documents.
• Assist with Indian Education Act grant applications, budgets, and amendments.
• Monitor program implementation and ensure alignment with grant assurances and timelines.
• Support development and delivery of culturally responsive programs for Native American students.
• Provide administrative support and represent the department at meetings.
