The University of New Mexico’s Institute for American Indian Education seeks a Program Coordinator to support the Native American Teacher Preparation Program (NATPP). Working under the IAIE Director, you will provide administrative, fiscal, and operations support for program activities.

Responsibilities include budget administration, recordkeeping, meetings planning, and coordination of events; you will interact with Indigenous communities, manage inventory, and help prepare data for grant

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities in New Mexico.

The College of Education &Human Sciences (COEHS) seeks applicants for a Program Coordinator to supportthe Native American Teacher Preparation Program under the Institute forAmerican Indian Education (IAIE). IAIE’s mission is tosupport community intergenerationalwell-being and educational outcomes of Indigenous Peoples by cultivating thequality of educational professionals through community engagement with NativeNations and collaborative partnerships with educational stakeholders.Under the supervision of theDirector of IAIE, this position will perform a variety of administrativesupport, including; fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, some ofwhich require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills, such as budgetadministration and control, equipment, facilities, and inventory management,specialized recordkeeping and database management, and/or specifiedinformation-gathering projects and tasks. This position will coordinate andfacilitates meetings for the NATPP, program functions, and/or special events,as appropriate.

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Demonstrate experience workingwith Indigenous communities in New Mexico.
  • Abilityto coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events specificallyrelated to Indigenous serving communities.
  • Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide rangeof constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skill in organizing resources andestablishing priorities.
  • Ability to interact withstudents, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting,budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of communicationprinciples, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to gatherand analyze statistical data to assist with grant proposal writing andbudget building
  • Must be willing to meetrequirements to obtain and use a UNM PCard for NATPP expenses.
