Job summary

City of Nacogdoches, Texas is seeking a Utility Construction Laborer to support the Public Works Department in building and maintaining the City's water and sewer infrastructure.

Responsibilities include installing, repairing and maintaining lines, assisting with taps, pipe laying, backfilling and site compaction, and operating equipment such as sewer rodders and jackhammers. This on-site role requires a valid Texas driver license and a willingness to work a rotating call-out schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in utility maintenance or construction OR equivalent education/experience.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver license.

Are you a hands-on individual with experience in utility construction? The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking a Laborer to join our Utility Construction Division.

• Perform essential skilled manual labor for the installation, replacement, repair and maintenance of the City's water and sewer lines.
• Assist with water and sewer taps, pipe laying, backfilling and site compaction.
• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools, including sewer rodders, jackhammers, trenchers and boring machines.
• Install and repair hydrants, meter valves and related pipeline apparatus.
• Work on a rotation with the call-out crew, subject to on-call and call-back work.
• Adhere strictly to all departmental safety training, policies and procedures.

We’re Looking For Someone With

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One (1) or more years of experience in utility maintenance or construction OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver license.
